Confetti is bought by weight and used in three distinct ways, each with its own quantity. Throwing confetti for a group send-off is about eight grams a guest — roughly a small handful, which is what a cone or paper bag holds. Table scatter is 10 to 20 grams per table depending on how dense you want it. Cannons hold around 20 grams each and are a fixed quantity per unit. Adding all three and dividing by the pack size gives the number of packs. One practical note worth checking before you buy: many venues either ban confetti outright or charge a clean-up fee, and biodegradable or dried-petal confetti is often the only permitted option outdoors.
