Walkability scoring combines amenity access with street network quality. Amenities within a five minute walk count most heavily and those within ten minutes count at a reduced weight, together contributing up to seventy points. Intersection density and short blocks contribute the remainder because a fine-grained grid gives direct routes, while long blocks and cul-de-sacs force detours.
