Budget a family trip to the aquarium.
An aquarium visit for a family of four is usually 110 to 140 dollars once travel and parking are counted, and admission is the bulk of it. The number worth calculating is the membership break-even: family membership divided by the cost of one visit's admission. At 120 dollars against 112 of admission that is barely more than one visit, which is why memberships at attractions are almost always the right purchase for a local family. Note that travel and parking are not covered by membership, so they recur on every visit and do not enter the break-even.
