Map out a degree plan across semesters.
A degree plan is credits remaining divided by credits per semester, rounded up because a partial semester still occupies a full term. Dividing by semesters per year converts that into calendar time, which is where summer terms earn their keep: taking three terms a year rather than two cuts a two-year remainder to sixteen months. Progress percentage is credits earned over credits required.
Semesters remaining
Semesters = ceiling((credits required - credits earned) / credits per semester)
Calendar time
Years to graduation = semesters remaining / semesters per year
Because it treats all credits as interchangeable. Prerequisite chains and courses offered only in one term per year can force a longer path than raw credit arithmetic suggests.
Only where they map to programme requirements. Credits that transfer as general electives can leave specific requirements unmet, so check the degree audit rather than the total.
