Count down days and hours to an exam.
A countdown in days is far less useful than one in study hours, because weekdays and weekends carry very different capacity. Splitting the remaining days into full weeks plus a remainder, then applying separate weekday and weekend rates, gives the hours you actually have. Dividing by topics remaining is the number that drives decisions: it tells you immediately whether the plan is comfortable or whether topics have to be dropped.
Study hours available
Hours = full weeks x (5 x weekday hours + 2 x weekend hours) + remaining weekdays x weekday hours + remaining weekend days x weekend hours
Per-topic budget
Hours per topic = total study hours / topics remaining
For active revision with practice questions, one to two hours per topic per pass is typical, and two or three spaced passes beat one long session. Under an hour per topic usually means coverage without retention.
No, and it is worth excluding the day before too. Cramming the final twenty-four hours tends to cost more in sleep and composure than it gains in recall.
