Work out gas volume at stp instantly with clear inputs, formula shown and shareable results.
At a fixed temperature and pressure a mole of any ideal gas occupies the same volume, so the calculation is one multiplication. The figure depends on which standard you mean: modern STP (0 C, 1 bar) gives 22.711 L/mol, the older 1 atm definition gives 22.414 L/mol, and ambient SATP gives 24.789 L/mol.
Volume from moles
V = moles x molar volume
Molar volume
Vm = RT / P
IUPAC has used 0 C and 1 bar since 1982, giving 22.711 L/mol. Many textbooks still print 22.4 L/mol, which is the 1 atm version.
Not for an ideal gas - that is Avogadro's insight. Real gases differ by a fraction of a percent at these conditions.
