Free Grade Improvement calculator with clear step-by-step results.
Works in course weight rather than raw scores. Your current percentage only counts for the portion of the course already graded, so the remaining assessments carry the whole gap - which is why leaving improvement late compresses the required average sharply.
Average needed
Needed = (target - current x completed weight) / (1 - completed weight)
Weight per assessment
Weight = remaining course weight / assessments remaining
The remaining weight shrinks while the gap stays the same. At 90% graded, closing an eight-point gap needs eighty points of improvement on the last tenth.
This assumes so. If one is worth much more than the others, weight it explicitly - hitting the target may depend almost entirely on that single piece.
