Work out i10 index instantly with clear inputs, formula shown and shareable results.
The i10-index simply counts publications with at least ten citations - 22 here, which is 53.7% of a 41 paper output. Google Scholar popularised it because it is trivial to compute and communicate, though the fixed ten-citation threshold makes it far less field-neutral than the h-index.
i10 index
the number of publications with 10 or more citations
Share of output
share = i10 index / total publications
It is an arbitrary round number chosen for simplicity. That arbitrariness is the index's main weakness, since ten citations means very different things across fields.
It is easier to compute but coarser. The h-index scales with impact while i10 saturates once most papers pass ten citations.
