Safety equipment splits into durable and consumable. Goggles are bought once per student with about ten percent spare for breakage and sizing, so the cost is a one-off per cohort. Gloves are consumed at roughly two per student per session, and at a hundred to a box that recurs every term. Separating the two is what makes a lab budget defensible rather than a single lump estimate.
