Pavers per square metre is a million divided by the face area of one paver in square millimetres, so a 200 by 100 mm block gives 50 per square metre. A cutting allowance is essential because edges and radii waste whole units. Bedding sand is laid 50 mm thick and jointing sand runs about 3 kg per square metre.
