Plan a weekly review routine.
A weekly review only survives if it is short enough to actually do. Sizing it from the number of areas and a realistic minutes-per-area figure gives a session length — six areas at eight minutes is under fifty minutes, which fits a Friday afternoon. Comparing the monthly total against a budget shows whether the review as designed is sustainable or will quietly be skipped.
Review session sizing
Minutes per review = areas x minutes each; monthly = minutes per review x reviews; utilisation = monthly / budget x 100
Typically the inbox to zero, the calendar for the week ahead, open projects and their next actions, goals against progress, and anything waiting on someone else. Five or six areas covers most systems.
Thirty to sixty minutes for most people. Under twenty minutes it becomes a superficial skim; beyond ninety it competes with actual work and gets dropped within a month.
Yes — it means the design exceeds what you are willing to spend, and something will give. Reduce the number of areas or the minutes each rather than hoping the discipline holds.
