Free Credit Completion calculator with clear step-by-step results.
Divides the credits you still need by the credits you actually complete each term - enrolled credits multiplied by your pass rate - rather than by enrolled credits alone. Rounding up gives whole terms, and dividing by terms per year converts that into an expected graduation horizon.
Effective credits per term
Effective = enrolled credits x pass rate
Terms remaining
Terms = ceil(credits remaining / effective credits per term)
A single failed course can add a whole term when it is a prerequisite. Assuming a 100% pass rate consistently underestimates time to graduation.
Set terms per year to three or four if you study year-round. The credits-per-term figure should then reflect the lighter summer load rather than the fall figure.
