The exposure points system makes hand-arm vibration additive across tools. Points accumulate at twice the square of magnitude per hour, so a 5 m/s² tool earns 50 points an hour. One hundred points is the daily exposure action value of 2.5 m/s² A(8) and four hundred points is the limit value of 5 m/s².
