Converting between zones runs through UTC: subtract the host offset to get UTC, then add the participant's offset. A 14:00 meeting at UTC+1 is 13:00 UTC, which is 08:00 for a participant at UTC-5. Where the result falls outside 0-24 the day shifts, which is what catches out Asia-Pacific scheduling.
