With symmetric point swings, net progress per match is the swing multiplied by twice your win rate minus one — which is zero at exactly fifty percent no matter how large the swing. That single fact explains most ranked frustration: the grind length is dominated by how far above even your win rate sits, not by how many hours you put in. Converting matches into hours makes the real time commitment visible.
