Surface-mount resistors are marked numerically rather than with colours. Three-digit codes give two significant digits plus a power of ten (472 is 4.7 kΩ), four-digit codes give three digits plus multiplier (4702 is 47 kΩ), and R marks a decimal point (4R7 is 4.7 Ω). EIA-96 uses a two-digit E96 index plus a multiplier letter.
