Plan an ergonomic study desk setup.
Ergonomic desk dimensions scale with body height rather than being fixed. Seat height near a quarter of your height puts thighs roughly parallel to the floor, and desk height near forty-two percent keeps forearms level with the keyboard. Viewing distance follows monitor size — around two and a bit times the diagonal — and the top edge of the screen should sit at or just below seated eye height so the gaze angles slightly downward.
Furniture heights
Seat height = height x 0.25; desk height = height x 0.42; seated eye height = height x 0.47
Monitor placement
Viewing distance = monitor diagonal inches x 2.2 x 2.54 cm; top edge at seated eye height

A slight downward gaze is the neutral resting position for the eyes and neck. A screen positioned above eye level forces neck extension, which is a common source of upper-back discomfort.
Adjust the chair to get forearms level with the desk, then use a footrest if your feet no longer reach the floor. Raising the chair and supporting the feet is easier than lowering a desk.
