Swimming lessons are billed by term, so the annual figure is lessons per term times price times terms, plus the registration fee each child pays once a year. The effective per-lesson cost spreads that registration fee back across the lessons actually delivered, which is what makes providers comparable: a scheme with a low headline lesson price and a high joining fee can work out dearer than one with neither, particularly for a single term.

Learning to swim 25 metres unaided typically takes 40 to 60 weekly lessons from a standing start, so budget across two to three years rather than one term.
Group lessons cost far less per lesson and suit steady progression; private lessons cost three to four times as much but typically achieve the same milestone in a third of the sessions. The effective per-milestone cost is often similar.
Usually 5% to 10% on the second child, applied to lesson fees rather than registration. Worth asking about, but not usually decisive between providers.
