Calculate K/D ratio in shooters.
K/D divides kills by deaths, so 1.0 means you trade evenly. It is the standard shooter metric but it ignores contribution that does not land the final blow, which is why KDA adds assists to the numerator and usually reads higher. Kills per match is the third view and the one least distorted by playstyle: a cautious player and an aggressive player can share a K/D while producing very different amounts of pressure per match.
K/D ratio
K/D = total kills / total deaths
KDA and per-match rate
KDA = (kills + assists) / deaths; kills per match = kills / matches played
No. Objective modes reward capturing and holding points, and a player farming kills away from the objective can post a strong K/D on a losing team.
Dividing by zero has no meaning, so a flawless record is reported as the kill count itself rather than an infinite ratio. Any real sample size will include deaths.
