Work out pressure transducer scaling instantly with clear inputs, formula shown and shareable results.
A ratiometric 0.5-4.5 V transducer maps pressure linearly onto its output span. Pressure equals (reading - offset)/span times full scale. The 0.5 V offset is again a live zero, letting an open circuit or sensor fault be distinguished from genuine zero pressure.
Transducer scaling
P = (Vout - Vmin) / (Vmax - Vmin) x full scale pressure
The output is a fixed fraction of the supply, typically 10% to 90% of 5 V, so measuring it against the same 5 V reference cancels supply variation.
A reading below 0.5 V indicates a fault rather than a valid low pressure, so the control system can alarm rather than act on bad data.
