Work out dots score instantly with clear inputs, formula shown and shareable results.
DOTS uses a fourth-order polynomial fitted to modern raw lifting data, correcting the weight-class bias critics found in Wilks. A 500 kg total at 90 kg scores about 320 DOTS. Because the two formulas use different fits, DOTS and Wilks scores are close but not interchangeable, and only one should be used within a ranking.
DOTS coefficient
coeff = 500 / (a + bx + cx^2 + dx^3 + ex^4), x = body weight
DOTS score
score = total x coefficient
This is an estimate from population-average equations, not a medical or diagnostic assessment. Individual results vary with genetics, training history and technique. Seek advice from a qualified coach or clinician before making significant changes to training.
It was fitted to raw (unequipped) lifting data, which had grown enormously since Wilks was derived from mostly equipped totals.
The IPF uses GL points, USAPL and many raw meets use DOTS, and Wilks persists informally. Check your federation's current rules.
